For many years, I have used the devotional book by Anthony Paone, S.J. called My Daily Bread for guiding my morning time of meditation.
Even though it was first published in 1954, it reads fresh and is very challenging and comforting all at once. Its direct and conversational style (a guided colloquy, really) makes it an easy way to move from thinking to praying.
So, I highly recommend you purchase a copy if you find your meditation time in need of some nutritious munchies. And if you finish this feast (I have not yet in 21 years), he has two other terrific meditation books: One, Two.
