Here’s a really wildly trivial story of life’s providential design.
My wife went to Flagler Beach, Florida recently, and attended a parish there for Mass. After picking her up at the Omaha airport, we returned to our dorm. As we passed by the girl working the front desk, she said in a cheerful voice to my wife, ‘welcome back! Where were you?’ Patti replied, ‘I just got back from Flagler Beach and…’ Just as she was saying this, a priest walked through the adjacent door and heard Patti’s comment. He exclaimed in a stunned and lively voice, ‘I was pastor of that parish in Flagler for seven years!’
We were all four flabbergasted.
Only in eternity will we ever understand the meaning of such a thing.
